A winter day in Bukovel with kids
-
Arrival
A separate bedroom and warmth
The car to the car park 50 m away, bags into the lift, kids into their bedroom, you into yours. Apartments for 4–6 guests, so the little ones go to bed when they need to, not when the adults do.
Lights always on: our own generator keeps the heating, light and Wi‑Fi going when Bukovel has a blackout.
-
First lesson
Rental and the ski school next door
The official “Ski Rental No. 1” and the Bukovel Ski School office are on Parking 1, up to 300 m from the door. Kids are taken from an early age, in a group or one-to-one with an instructor.
Kids’ skis and boots come from the rental, so there is nothing to carry. Helmets too.
-
The main part
The first run outside the door
Learning areas 1D and 2D sit right by lifts 1 and 2R, a few steps from the hotel. Then the gentle blue 1C and 1E above the hotel: ski down and you are home.
One more area, 7E, is by lift 7: if the near one is busy, the free Bukovel Bus takes you there.
-
Breathe
Lunch and quiet time
A child is tired after an hour, and that is fine. Walk home, lunch from the restaurant round the corner or delivery to the apartment, and a nap in their own room.
Boots go to the ski room dryer: everything is dry by morning, no snow or puddles in the apartment.
-
Afternoon
A day without skis is still a day
Snowtubing, the Husky House, the Ferris wheel, the carousel, the ice rink and Hutsul Land in the center of the resort. The indoor Mavka aquapark with a warm shallow pool for the little ones is open all year.
All on foot or by Bukovel Bus, the car stays in the car park until you leave.
-
Evening
An evening for the grown-ups
Dinner at a restaurant a few minutes’ walk away, the kids in their bedroom, and a banya or a hot vat at VODA Club nearby for the parents. And back on foot too, no taxi.
Arriving late? The service works round the clock, reception is on the third floor, there is a lift.

A winter holiday in Bukovel with kids: how it works
Why the center is easier with kids
With a child what matters is not the distance to the summit but the distance to bed. 1R Apart Hotel stands 20 m from lift 1, the learning areas, rental and school are a few minutes’ walk, so a child who is tired or cold is home in five minutes. No car, no taxi, no shuttles with a sled in tow. Even children’s camps often stay with us.
Where to teach a child to ski
Learning areas 1D and 2D by lifts 1 and 2R, and one more, 7E, by lift 7. The official Bukovel Ski School takes kids from an early age, in groups or one-to-one with an instructor, with its office and “Ski Rental No. 1” on Parking 1. The first real runs are on the blue 1C and 1E right above the hotel.
Where to go with kids in Bukovel in winter without skis
The indoor Mavka aquapark with a warm shallow kids’ pool, snowtubing, the Husky House, the Ferris wheel, the carousel, the ice rink and the Hutsul Land ethnopark. All in the center of the resort, on foot or by the free Bukovel Bus.
Apartments for a family
One or two bedrooms for 4–6 guests, so the kids sleep separately. Our own generator, so there is heat, light and Wi‑Fi even in a blackout. A ski room with a dryer for the kids’ boots, parking 50 m away, a lift in the building, service round the clock. There is no kitchen in the apartments, but restaurants are round the corner and delivery is available.
